Trade name Phenyl salicylate
Ingredients Phenyl o-hydroxybenzoate
Performance and use Colorless crystalline powder. Has a pleasant aromatic smell (wintergreen oil smell). Density 1.250g/cm3, melting point 43, boiling point (1.6kPa) 173. Soluble in ether, benzene and chloroform, soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in water and glycerin. Content 99%.
This product is a UV absorber used in plastic products, but the absorption wavelength range is narrow. The US Food and Drug Administration has approved acrylic resin products for contact with food.
Packaging and storage and transportation Paper barrels lined with plastic bags. Storage and transportation according to general chemical regulations.
Trade name UV absorber UV-P
Ingredients 2-(2ˊ-hydroxy-5ˊ-methylphenyl) benzotriazole
Performance and use Appearance is colorless or light yellow crystals. Soluble in gasoline, benzene, acetone and other organic solvents. It has very low solubility in water and is not decomposed by concentrated alkali or acid. It can be combined with heavy metal ions to form salts. It can absorb ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 270 to 380 nm. The melting point is 130 to 131.
This product is mainly used in resins such as polyester, chlorinated polyester, acetate, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, plexiglass, and polyacrylonitrile. The stability in transparent products is better than that in colored products. The dosage in the product is 0.% to 0.5%.
Trade name UV absorber UV-O
Ingredients 2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone
Performance and use This product is a light-colored needle-shaped crystal or white powder. Water content <0.5%. Ash content 100ml solvent, 25℃ acetone 50, benzene 1, ethanol>50, water <0.5, n-heptane <0.5.
This product is a UV absorber, suitable for polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, epoxy resin, cellulose resin, unsaturated polyester, coatings and synthetic rubber. The maximum absorption wavelength range is 280-340nm, and the general dosage is 0.1%1%. However, the photostability effect of this product is not outstanding.
Safety precautions The oral LD50 of this product in rats is 8.6g/kg body weight, and the LD50 of mice is 2.336mg/kg body weight. No toxic effects were observed at doses of 0.19, 0.60, and 1.90g/kg. The development of experimental animals in the other two groups of doses was affected, and blood phases changed.
